A long-running inquiry into activities including bribery, gold-smuggling and illegal collusion is making life harder for those who are try to read the tea leaves of the Turkish economy. The sums of money are quite large; GNP-altering.

Substituting bogus food exports when the secretive gold "exports" stalled was....mmm.... less effective.
