FYI: With the dearth of volatility in US stock markets, many active traders are hoping for a leg higher in the VIX. But in addition to single names here in the United States, there are plenty of other opportunities out there if you are in search of some volatility! The table at right shows the 40 most volatile stock indices from around the world, as measured by realized 30-day volatility. Unsurprisingly, the US is nowhere to be found. In addition to 30 day volatility, we also show a slightly broader window of volatility (90 days), and quarter-to-date/year-to-date returns. All figures are expressed in percentage terms.
