Federal Reserve Stays The Course, Ends Most Recent Stimulus Program

"In a symbolic move that underlines the confidence the Fed has in the U.S. economy, today the Federal Open Market Committee said it was staying the course and ending the third round of economic stimulus, known as Quantitative Easing."

  • and all the hoot and hollering the financial media has been spouting about the end of QE never happened. The markets adjusted.
  • Well, yeah, after a few nasty preliminary lurches, if you recall. Actually the Fed played that pretty well, I thought. A few false starts to test the waters and get everybody used to the concept, and then they wait a while and sneak it right in with minimal fuss. And the world will not end. (Well, yes it will, but not from the Fed.)
