Morningstar old version

Is there anyway to select the old version of Morningstar? If there is, I can't seem to find it.

  • @Soupkitchen It depends on what browser your using. On my computer, Firefox is the old version, Chrome is the new beta. Hope this helps.

  • @Ted- just curious: can you take a look and check to see if the URL address shown for M* is EXACTLY the same on the Firefox & Chrome browsers? Thanks- OJ

  • @Ted- Thanks much.

    @Soupkitchen- I tried substituting "http://www.morningstar.com/" for "http://beta.morningstar.com/" in my M* address, but it wouldn't take- it reverted back to the "http://beta.morningstar.com/". Since Ted has proven that both versions are still available from M*, I guessed that when I previously opted for the new "beta" version, M* set a cookie on my Firefox browser which redirects all access attempts to the newer version.

    Sure enough, in the list of M* cookies there are four which begin with "beta.morningstar.com". You might try eliminating those four cookies from your browser and see what happens. No warranty on this suggestion!

    It's not beta, it worse! ...

    Really 'like' how (in beta) if you want to navigate to the [Mutual Funds] tab, you must click on [More] on the right of the ribbon at the top.

    Perhaps M* is trying to de-emphasize mutual funds? Something like Kentucky Fried Chicken changing its name to 'KFC' so it could sell broiled chicken?
  • Thanks all. I deleted all M* cookies from Opera, and I'm back to the old version. They slipped a cookie in there somehow, and I couldn't find my way back...
  • re: KFC

    Read link below for real reason. Who knew?

    @ibartman- good one! :)

    @Soupkitchen- glad that things worked out for you. I don't believe that I would have had the nerve to eliminate all 397 (approximate guess) of those damned M* cookies.
  • OJ, it's no big deal. You get them right back. You can see the different cookies on the Opera browser, and only eliminate the beta.morningstar cookies. I got that cookie back, so I had to eliminate it again. I could probably black list it, but it is easier to just delete it.
