Chicago's GDP Versus Many Red States

edited August 2020 in Off-Topic
If Chicago was a state by itself, its GDP would be the seventh largest in the nation and really the sixth if you exclude Illinois, which Chicago produces more than 3/4's of its GDP: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_states_and_territories_of_the_United_States_by_GDP
In 2019, Chicago's GDP was $689 billion:https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/NGMP16980

Wyoming's GDP, the reddest red state was $40 billion.
Montana's $53 billion
South Dakota's $54 billion
Alaska's $56 billion
North Dakota's $57 billion
West Virginia's $79 billion
Idaho: $82 billion
Mississippi: $120 billion
Arkansas: $135 billion
Kansas: $176 billion
Nevada: $180 billion
Utah: $192 billion
Iowa: $197 billion
Oklahoma: $207 billion
Kentucky: $218 billion
Alabama: $234 billion
South Carolina: $250 billion
Louisiana: $267 billion
Missouri: $337 billion
Arizona: $373 billion
Tennessee: $386 billion
North Carolina: $596 billion
Georgia: $625 billion, $397 billion of which comes from "liberal failure" Atlanta: https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/NGMP12060

So where would America be without "failing" liberal cities like Chicago?
