"Off-Topic" again Open for Business

For those who may have missed David's recent post, he notes that:
Speaking of "lively discussion," the off-topic board is less closed than it was. With any luck at all, I've succeeded in modifying the settings so that folks can post there but O-T posts don't appear on the "recent discussions" view that is the default landing page for the discussion board. That way, if folks want to participate in off-topic discussions they can but the landing page highlights on-topic discussions instead.
If I'm understanding this correctly, the OT section is again open for business, but we must deliberately and specifically choose to see any comments from that section. If that works out as hoped, those who don't want to see those comments won't, and thus have no grounds for complaint.

Despite the contrary examples from our federal "leadership", civility is still the preferred mode of exchange in the OT section.

Regards- OJ
