Comedy recommendation: Steven van Zandt

edited August 8 in Off-Topic
"Lilyhammer." Netflix. It's not brand-new. I binge-watched it on vacation. It's a series that lasted 3 seasons. S. van Zandt, you'll recall, plays with Bruce Springsteen in the E Street Band. And when van Zandt performs with his own band, they are called "Little Steven & the Disciples of Soul."

Lilyhammer is a deliberate misspelling for the Norwegian town which hosted the winter Olympics in 1994. The story-line is alternately dramatic and zany. And in the last couple of episodes, even The Boss shows up in cameo appearances.

From the start, the project was birthed as a spinoff from "The Sopranos," in which van Zandt starred, too.

  • Watched it when it first aired. I did enjoy it. I also came to the conclusion that Norway is the Wisconsin of Europe from viewing it. The Boss showing up was a nice touch.
