Cattle Ranchers Have Beef With Trump

edited October 23 in Off-Topic
President Trump's administration plans to quadruple Argentinian beef imports.
Lowering U.S. beef prices was the stated goal for the large increase in imports.

"But hiking imports has angered U.S. ranchers, who largely supported Trump in his campaigns for president.
They said the government should back U.S. producers and that increased imports threaten their livelihoods."

"Farmers were also angered by Trump's $20 billion currency swap with Argentina
while they lost out to the South American nation on soybean sales to China."

  • So cronies first and not America. Got it.
  • You gotta hand it to Trump on one thing... he'll screw anyone and everyone, even if they vote for him. He's an equal-opportunity bastard.

The soybean farmers have it good on both ends. Not a single contract from China was made this year. Bankruptcy continues to rise among farmers while getting hand-out from the government. Isn’t that welfare that this administration is so appalling of. There are many agricultural products to be exported. Ironically, China is buying soybean from Argentina and Brazil. So domestic beef producers are betrayed twice - is this the Art of the Deal?
