The United States has been moving towards state capitalism recently. Should the federal government be picking potential winners and losers? Will this lead to optimal capital allocation? Free-market proponents vociferously objected to government regulation and "interference" in the past. Now, there is nary a whisper!
Thanks for bringing it to our attention. How does these companies report their government investment on the earning statement ? Lots of room to cook the book. Unfortunately, this type of interference is spreading in publicly traded stocks.
Well. It's not some government bureaucracy that is trying to run our economy. It's our president pulling stuff out of his . . . hat, as his senile moods and grievances strikes him.
