  • Fund industry suffering from Excessive Oak-itis.

    Oakmark
    Oakseed
Red Oak, River Oak, White Oak
    Angel Oak

There really has to be a rule. It would be fine if the fund was called Angel Maple Fund wouldn't it?
  • A few that probably wouldn't be on the list, eh?

---Barren Oak fund, long term poor performance
---Blackjack Oak fund, aggressive fund; but with poor management and returns
---Maul Oak fund, poor management style, psuedo hedge fund style
---Possum Oak fund, performance played dead for too many reporting periods

    BUT.....
    ---Basket Oak fund, global/world allocation
---Bottomland Post Oak fund, agri centered holdings
---Cow Oak fund, sector oriented, related diary products
---Cross & Forkleaf Oak, multi-sector funds
    ---Pin Oak fund, micro cap
---Punk Oak fund, only invests in companies formed during restricted time period in the 1980's
---She Oak fund, sector fund; related to all products/companies, feminine
---Runner Oak fund, aggressive; all asset, long/short...you name it, fund does it

Lastly, two fund names that probably should not be considered:
---Weeping Willow and Whiplash Willow funds

Apparently, too much coffee this morning !

    Regards,
    Catch

  • Does ANGLX operate in the same space as TGLMX and DBLTX?

    Mona
  • Sorry. SAI carries no evidence managers own even a single $ of the fund. Me pass.
  • I mentioned this in a previous thread but non agency debt is also the primary reason Dan Ivasyn of PONDX fame had prospered since 2009. While I can't predict or forecast any better than anyone else it sure seems the boat has already sailed for bonds of most stripes and colors. Junk and floating rate have been the stalwarts YTD.
