0 0 0 = 6
1 1 1 = 6
2 + 2 + 2 = 6 // solved for you
3 3 3 = 6
4 4 4 = 6
5 5 5 = 6
6 6 6 = 6
7 7 7 = 6
8 8 8 = 6
9 9 9 = 6

make each row equal to 6 using ONLY symbols
(e.g. these symbols + - ( ) / * sqrt or ! (factorial), as well as others.)

you cannot use exponents.

but you can use square root e.g. the square root of 4 is 2
e.g.

sqrt 4 = 2

and you can use factorials as well
e.g.

3! - 3 factorial is 6
3 x 2 1 = 6

4! - 4 factorial
4 *3*2*1 = 24

put any number of symbols around any of the numbers of the left hand side of equation

any takers.:)

10 points for each correct line solved 10 lines solved 100%

what was your score?

  • I scored 100%. The most challenging in the first one:

    (cos(0) + cos(0) + cos(0))! = 6

    @DavidV
    (cos(0) + cos(0) + cos(0))! = 6

    really, realy close but you can't use the cos

    you got the right idea - but you can't use cos sine tangent just symbols.
    if you add letters they are not symbols.

    so we need a new answer on the first line.

    0 0 0 = 6

    hint here: http://mathforum.org/library/drmath/view/57128.html

  • (0!+0!+0!)! = 6

    DavidV basically gave the solution, but worked too hard at it. Factorial (no trig) is all that's needed. 0! = 1 = cos(0).

    Edit: posted before reading your hint.

    9 = ㄣʇɹbs + ㄣʇɹbs + ㄣʇɹbs

    9 = Ɛ - (Ɛ * Ɛ)

    Are you sure about #8? (9!)?

    Though writing the whole expression upside down does offer an outside the box solution:
    (8 + 8/8) = 9. Turning it upside down, the eights remain eights and the nine becomes six:-)

    Allow cube roots and the problem becomes simple.

    nice spot of incorrect solution @msf and a good out of the box explanation :)
    right you are, the answer displayed was lacking the crucial (square root of 9)! = 3! = 3* 2+ 1 = 6

        ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯
    (√((8 / 8) + 8))! = 6

    (0! + 0! + 0!)! = 6

    (1 + 1 + 1)! = 6

    2 + 2 + 2 = 6 // solved for you3

    (3 * 3) - 3 = 6

    sqrt4 + sqrt4 + sqrt4 = 6

    5 + (5 / 5) = 6

    (6 / 6) * 6 = 6

    7 - (7 / 7) = 6

    (9 + 9) / sqrt9 = 6
