Bearish bets build in the stock market - Put/Call ratio

https://axios.com/2022/11/18/bearish-bets-stock-market

U.S. equity put/call ratio
"On most days there are more calls than puts. However, on November 16, 2022, there were 1.46 puts per call, the highest ratio since at least November 2002.

That might sound like a reason to run away from stocks. But oddly, market analysts usually see extreme levels of bearishness in investor sentiment as good news for stocks. The put/call ratio is often used as a so-called contrarian indicator."
