Heightened tensions associated with the Iran nuclear talks have spurred the U.S.
to reduce its presence in the Middle East.
The State Department has ordered all nonessential personnel to leave the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad
and authorized nonessential personnel and family members to depart Kuwait and Bahrain.
Defense Secretary Hegseth also authorized the voluntary departure of military dependents
throughout the Middle East.
Unsurprisingly, oil prices spiked higher today.
"Iranian Defense Minister Amir Aziz Nasirzadeh said earlier on Wednesday
that 'some say that if negotiations fail, the situation may escalate into conflict.'
'If a conflict is imposed on us…all U.S. bases are within our reach
and we will boldly target them in host countries,' Nasirzadeh warned."https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/us-moves-to-withdraw-some-middle-east-personnel-as-iran-tensions-rise/ar-AA1Gxo67

The developments mark a stark shift after several rounds of mostly indirect U.S.-Iran talks that were previously described as “positive” and “respectful.”
If this were any other administration, one that were clever, I would like to think that there was a plan to float "rumors" of an imminent Israeli attack and potential U.S. military considerations, as a bargaining tool. We know these people are not that clever.
with its nonproliferation obligations. In a major escalation on Thursday, Iran announced
it would open a third uranium enrichment site. A sixth round of nuclear negotiations
between the U.S. and Iran is expected on Sunday. It's very doubtful that Tehran will agree
to stop producing fissible material. Israel rightfully feels threatened by a nuclear-armed Iran
and is considering a military strike according to various sources. Trump has warned Benjamin Netanyahu
against a military strike since this could derail Iranian negotiations.
I'm concerned that the Iranian negotiations will not yield appreciable results and Israel
will subsequently attack Iran. If this occurs, what will be the total impact and how will the U.S. be involved?
I wonder where Jared and Ivanka are these days? Trying to distance themselves from all things Trump, while spending Saudi money?

Israel attacked Tehran early Friday (local time) targeting military and nuclear sites.
The IDF is calling up thousands of reserve soldiers to prepare for an operation that may last for days.
IDF spokesman Effie Defrin stated: "The Iranian regime has proclaimed that its objective is to destroy the State of Israel. Senior officials in the Iranian regime have publicly declared their intent to destroy Israel, and are operating to achieve this together with their proxies in the Middle East. Today, Iran is closer than ever to obtaining a nuclear weapon. Weapons of mass destruction in the hands of the Iranian regime are an existential threat to the State of Israel and a significant threat to the wider world. The State of Israel will not allow a regime whose objective is to destroy the State of Israel to obtain weapons of mass destruction."
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the United States was not involved in Israel's attacks against Iran
and warned Tehran not to target U.S. interests or personnel.
