Global X PureCap ETFs (Alternatives for MSCI 25/50 ETFs)

Global X has come up with PureCap ETFs that combine the use of sampling & indexed ETFs to achieve pure (uncapped) sector cap alternatives to MSCI 25/50 indexes (capped; related ETFs within parentheses): consumer discretionary GXPD (vs VCR, FDIS), communication services GXPC (vs VOX, FCOM), information technology GXPT (VGT, FTEC), consumer Staples GXPS (VDC, FSTA) & energy GXPE (vs VDE, FENY).

  • If concentration is purity, then you may be drawn to GXPT (Information Tech) of which the first three holdings are:

    NVDA 23.48%
    MSFT 20.16%
    APPL 16.47%

I didn't check the other funds' holdings.
  • The most concentrated sectors are IT/tech, communications and energy and these uncapped GXP? will have full concentrations.

It does emphasize what many of us know, that the indices are being driven by 2-3 major players, with the rest just plodding along behind them at some distance or other.
