How the United States is eating Trump's tariffs

edited October 13 in Other Investing
The full tariffs impact is coming, so will the inflation. This is what the FED is watching.

It is all big lies that other countries are paying the tariffs. We the citizens are bearing the additional layer of taxation.

  • As one might expect, companies will absorb some of the impact at first, hurting shareholders. Then they will slowly roll out price increases, like boiling a frog.

Inflation may not surge all at once and recede, like after all that Covid stimulus. Rather just slowly eat away at profits, consumer spending and probably jobs. I would assume that this is the environment that will underpin the next recession. Withe the FED caught in the middle of a very flawed economic policy.
