Not a TV series. But last evening I finally got around to watching "Good Night and Good Luck" - the Made for TV version of the Broadway production with George Clooney which was recommended by @Crash on this forum several months ago. Using a home movie screen + projector setup works a lot better on dark winter nights.
The reviews I've read are mixed. The recorded version was clearly "doctored" by the tech people to give it a TV show appearance. Hence, you don't get the same "wide stage" perspective you would if seated in the audience. What stood out to me was the depth of the human relations depicted among the CBS newsroom staff. Very deep, powerful, realisticto-the-core relationships. As a commentary or insight into the McCarthy hearings it might have done more. Clooney is superb in his role with strong supporting cast. Overall, I highly recommend the video which I purchased for a small sum on Prime.
Ben Kingsley in the first, Keanu Reeves in the second. A very different sort of role, compared to "Ghandi" for Kingsley. I watched these two just because I really like these two actors. In each, the protagonists are not really the good guys. I guess they are anti-heroes to some degree. Within the story lines, they are "approachable."
