Martin Whitman has spent over four decades buying unloved stocks and bonds, usually profiting as they rose in value.

Lately, however, these investments are turning into blunders, not bargains.

  • Must be having reverberations today in junk corporate land. The worst day I have seen so far since 2008 in HYG and JNK.
  • Hopefully, Treasuries and municipal bonds will benefit from the selling of corporate junk.
