Hi guys,
My income sleeve made a little money yesterday (8/17) being up +0.08% but is down -0.17% for the rolling five day period. I had one fund that was down and that was Pimco Income with the others being flat to up for the day. For the day th…

@Catch22,
Thanks for the update on bonds.
I appreciate this very much as I am more of an equity guy; but, I do pay attention to the price movement of my income sleeve which is made up of bond and multi sector income funds. For the week it was…
Well then ... as Zero Hedge is Russian then here is another Russian take on our Capital Markets. For me, it is pretty much on target as I'm in belief that the stock market is grossly overbought as I write. This is not saying it want go upwards thi…

Due to elevated asset valuations (stocks & bonds) I'm now back to a cash build mode while I await the next stock market pullback (5% to 10% range, or better, from 52 week high). In addition, I'd like to see a dividend yield for the S&P 500 …
I'd like to see tham do a study (and publish) of those investors that bought during the stock market swoon adding to their equity positions rather than cashing out and how they have now faired during the rebound.
Hi @Rbrt,
I have in the past followed the Decision Moose until he begin to charge a fee to readers for his thoughts and his positioning. Being a former boy scout I learned the best way to find ones way was by use of a compass. So, I set up my ow…
Calif has 55 electoral votes with 270 needed to win. Those 55 votes are 20% of what is needed. Now you know why Ms. Harris was the pick from my perspective.
Hi @Rbrt, I was an investor in Duke, CPL (Carolina Power & Light) and Piedmont Natural Gas (PNY) before they merged with Duke but no longer. When Duke pulled a fast one with the NC Utilities Commission with the merger between themselves and CP…
@Derf, Interesting pick in SPEDX. Thinking I'll cut some from SPECX into SPEDX through a nav transfer. This should put me somewhere around 50% in SPECX, 25% in SPEDX and 25% in AOFAX within the Alger family of funds. I've got to be careful moving…
Hi guys,

Hi @David_Snowball,

I have observed much the same as my bond proxies are down, for the week, while XLRE, VTI & EPP are my three leaders within my asset compass. For today, what is on the upward move, for my income proxies as I write, are CWF, PFF & HYG.
Hi @Old_Joe, Look at Greece, their great society worked until it didn't with the governemnt elected promissing retirement and social programs to its citizens that were grossly underfunded. I'm thinking that is what will happen here. Promised high…
Thanks @Old_Joe for the graph. I feel my home is on top of a huge rock mass below as I feel the shock waves more than most in the area. In an eathquake certain construction will fair better than others for sure. My home being built with real 2x4'…
@hank and @derf ... In the past when equity opportunity comes I have been a buyer through loading some equity ballast and/or a spiff position. And, when equities become richly prices as they presently are I've been one to trim my equity position. …
Hi @hank, Yes ... I have already done the equity heave ho. Now back to my normal equity allocation of 40% equity now that equities have become richly priced by many metrics. Ain't it nice when a plan comes together! Not a question ... a fact. T…

Morningstar classifies FPACX as a 50-70 asset allocation fund. With this, there are many funds that are rated higher than FPACX, by M*, as it only carries two stars. Some flexible portfolio funds that I own are BAICX, CTFAX, PGBAX, JNBAX & GAO…
Hi @expatsp,
Pursuant to your question. " @Old_Skeet, I know you've posted this elsewhere, so forgive me for asking you to repeat yourself, but does your method for calculating valuations take interest rates into account?" The short answer is yes.…
Years back some funds that I owned had a 2% redemtion fee if the position was held less than 30 days. If I remember correctly this fee was paid to the managers and did not benefit fund shareholders. Wonder who gets benefit of this fee when imposed?
From my perspective ... stock market valuations are streached. When the FOMC stops buying ... well the fat lady has stopped singing. Party's over time to get. With this, I'm still at the stock market party, so to speak, but at a reduced level.
Invested within my stock and bond asset allocation of 15% cash, 45% income and 40% equity; and, currently building cash as I believe stock and bond valuations are stretched. I am awaiting a stock market pull back before I put new money to work on t…

@MikeM,
I find your comments interesting. In addition, I find it interesting that a couple of my funds are holders of Kodak stock. And, they have been up nicely over the past couple of days. Cheers, Old_Skeet
