@Ted: Perhaps directly, but evidently not through other brokers. Schwab (at least) says "available to existing shareholders".
Edit: Yes, the TRP site does say "open to new retail investors", so it's available directly, for sure.
Edit 2: Just tried…
He was a good and honest man, "on the other side of the aisle". We are sadly lacking of others of his character and bravery, on any side of any aisle. May he rest in well-deserved peace.
Jeff Sessions to Robert Mueller: "Bob, this conversation isn't happening. Do you need more men? More money? Anything I can help with? Can you hurry it up a little??"
With respect to hank's comments, for a while now I've had to grudgingly admire Jeff Sessions's difficult and honorable stand on the Mueller investigation. I was never a fan of Mr. Sessions's rather draconian views on a number of things, but he is ce…
"The only cars that had worse paint jobs other than Earle Scheib were those painted by Maaco."
@Ted- your memory seems to be still working pretty good.

Here's a bit more from Wickipedia:
Trillion (short scale) (1,000,000,000,000; one million million; 10 to the 12th; SI prefix: tera-), the current meaning in both American and British English.
Trillion (long scale) (1,000,000,000,000,000,000; one m…
Nice to see some reasonable discussions of differing viewpoints without the unnecessary nastiness of some past confrontations. "Compromise" is not an obscene word, despite the beliefs of some.
True enough re the Paris poop, but my wife and I have always admired the general behavior of the typical French pet canine. Quiet, well behaved, they don't run around in circles and jump all over folks, and even in restaurants, where they seem to be…
@hank- I thought that the letter from retired Admiral McRaven was one of the most powerful statements of truth to authority that I've seen in many a year. Just when I am lulled into thinking that maybe the worst has been seen this despicable human b…
@bee- Yes, that's true, but then again it seems unlikely that they won't have the income to deal with that debt. Unless of course they also need to invest zillions in whatever new and great 27G comes along next, in which case who knows?
BTW, we wer…
Thanks, @Ted and @Mark. I wasn't being snarky or critical; I just wanted to make sure that my understanding was correct. Yes, I remember Ed... always enjoyed his comments.
@Ted: Thanks for the quick answer. But perhaps I'm misunderstanding something here. I interpret your answer to mean that the % is related directly to what you actually paid for one share. If you had paid $14.75 per share, then your yield would be 1…
Question: With respect to a stock, what is the basis for the percentage? For example, with T, the 6.75% is 6.75% of what? If the "what" is a company's earnings, wouldn't the percentage vary constantly as earnings either increase or decrease?
@Ted- yessir... I was trying to lead to that gently, step by step, for the edification of some. Evidently some believe that a bond merchant resells his product without markup at exactly the same price that he paid for the product. How the bond merch…
