I purchased OSMYX in my retirement account at what was WellsTrade for a fairly low minimum.
Also own ARTJX, which just received some significant capital gains in a taxable account.
Spoke to VG rep. He indicated that basically if you plan to hold only VG mutual funds, it is not really worth your while. For that reason, I did not convert my accounts over.

I purchased CNRYX through the transfer agent for low minimum. It was offered on the application. Not an issue.

You may be able to buy CNRYX through the transfer agent then transfer it to your brokerage provided the brokerage has a buy/sell agreement for the fund.
As a side note, I called the transfer agent on a Friday on their 800 telephone number; I received the regular application the next day's mail in an overnight delivery envelope.

Incidentally, I own a very minimum amount in the fund.
I bought mine through TRP, but it took a while as the online system was not set up to buy it. I tried to buy it on 5/25, but the purchase/exchange to obtain it never occurred. I tried again last week and was finally able to purchase it.
