@rforno.you might remember that the Watergate investigation was not going anywhere until such time as Nixon's own party suddenly said something like enough is enough. And then he resigned. First, the current scandal isn't about a backdoor deal. It's about the president siding publicly with a totalitarian foreign dictator against every U.S. intelligence agency over whether the Russians hacked the 2016 election. I agree completely - moreover at this point, they're not something "only a few people" [1]would be interested in, as he is prone to reply when asked about them.

Sounds like Sanders would be their best choice but he is an I and DNC does not like that at all; most Americans do not favor socialist views also imho.
