"The Macallan distillery in Scotland recently debuted a 77-year-old Scotch single malt whisky as part of its The Red Collection, making it one of the brand's oldest bottlings. The new Macallan was distilled in 1945 in the distillery’s copper stills before being laid down to rest for seven decades in oak casks.

The 700ml, 77-year-old whisky bottle will be available from The Macallan Estate Boutique and retail outlets globally for $87,000. According to Macallan's Master Whisky Maker, Kirsteen Campbell, the scotch is "an incredible new high-aged guest expression for The Red Collection, which has been crafted from some of the world’s oldest and rarest casks.”"
