Here's a statement of the obvious: The opinions expressed here are those of the participants, not those of the Mutual Fund Observer. We cannot vouch for the accuracy or appropriateness of any of it, though we do encourage civility and good humor.
M* Bill Baranyk has posted on a very long M* thread that the old M* Portfolio will be around at least through 2023.
"An update on our plans: We will not retire legacy Portfolio Manager in 2023. As we continue to build and release more enhancements to Investor, legacy Portfolio Manager will still remain available. We will not retire the legacy version until Investor’s portfolio features are successfully up and running, and we’ll continue to update you on our progress."
Thanks, yogi. Trying to log-in there is like chewing off my own tail. I will take your word for it. Will it remain BEYOND 2023? It's my main go-to website, despite all the SNAFUS and screw-ups.
...Just visited M* to look at my portfolio. I noticed---strangely---- a page come up on my screen for only an instant. It was full of red. "Please don't..." and it was gone. Maybe my popup blocker or ad-blocker killed that page for me? This is the first time I've noticed such a thing. Maybe there's something I SHOULD know, there?
I can still access my M* portfolios and watchlists through their app, but not if I go through their website. When I try to access portfolio view through their website, it goes to a page showing their membership fees. Sorry M*, but your content is not worth the fees you charge.
I mainly use M* to track various portfolios and watchlists. I can do that on the Fidelity site for free. FWIW, over my many years of using M*, I have little correlation between their funds picks/evaluations and actual performances going forward.
+1. Yogi. That must be what happened. I went to link to the Bill Baranyk comment. That's in the DISCUSSION forum. Separate from Portf. Manager--- which is where I always link to, since I have it bookmarked. i guess it makes too much sense to have a central login by which you can access whatever is there on the website. Geniuses at work, again. Anyhow, I pay for nothing over there. The advantages for me are X-Ray (vs. manually entered Instant X-Ray,) and I can read the full Analyst reports, for whatever they might be worth. TRP gives me FREE access. The charts and stats are helpful---- whenever I happen to find them up to date. It's certainly not worth paying for, the way things have become.

Thanks for letting us know. I still prefer Legacy version.

And they're more than happy to link to other accounts, if you let them.
I know I'm not seeing any reasons to pay for what M* offers.
