(krug) Right now, self-identified Republicans mostly believe that unemployment, which is near a 50-year low, is actually near a 50-year high, and assess current economic conditions as being worse than they were in 1980, when both inflation and unemployment were much worse than they are now.

Or facts. A poll by The Economist and YouGov last April reported that 80% of Democrats and 81% of independents believe that fentanyl is a very or somewhat serious problem; Republicans were at 89%. Flipping it around, 2% of Democrats believe that fentanyl is not serious at all. Also, 2/3 (67%) of Democrats place some or a little of the blame on the federal government. Only 1/3 (33%) aren't sure or hold the government blameless. Regardless of party affiliation, it's the drug dealers that are most likely to be blamed: Democrats 89%, independents 87%, Republicans 93%.
