NO KINGS rally(s), Saturday, June 14, U.S. map locations

edited June 9 in Off-Topic
Reportedly 1,800 rally locations. 45 in Michigan. We'll be at one, too. Even Canada has some rally locations, named No Tyrants. One may guess to whom that naming applies, eh? I respect and love the neighbors.

'No Kings' rally map

Depending what device one uses to view the map, it may be dragged in any direction and zoomed for a look at locations. Zooming allows one to view down to the street name location. This should provide enough location information. Mobilize.us is the contact organization for exact locations, if needed, etc.

Yes, and Hawaii has to fight to get acknowledged. The rally will be in front of the Capitol Building in Honolulu on Beretania Street. (11:00 a.m.to 1:00 p.m.) I bet there will be gatherings on Maui and the Big Island, too. Hilo, I bet.

Thanks @Catch22 for the link and the protest across the country.

For those of you who will participate in them. Just be careful as the national guard are enforcing non-lethal arsenal (rubber bullets and tear gas) against protesters. On Sunday or Monday, one Canadian reporter got shot in her leg in LA protest.

Edits. We will be in LA for family celebration and graduation. Will stay away from downtown area where the protest are. Disgusting to have the National Guards and Marine there without the request from CA governor. That is a violation of CA state sovereignty.
  • I don't expect the National Guard or the US Marines to show up in Guerneville on Saturday. Maybe not even the sheriff or the Highway Patrol.

    Hi @Sven et al
This Saturday rally, as well as past and future rallies have individual(s) or group sponsors. Documents are filed for location and rally approvals with local authorities.
The key word is rally vs protest.
The circumstances in L.A. are fully different.
Trump is using this as the perfect example to further establish his 'power'.
This early afternoon the Pentagon announced that a full 60 day plan for the Guard and the Marines will entail a cost of $134 million. That money could be used to fix the soon to be damaged streets/roads in D.C.

@Old_Joe I'll hazard a guess that you may know the first names of local police folks.
  • A confident government doesn't require the spectacle of a military parade ...
  • Remember that Trump believes that exercise of First Amendment rights (protest) in D.C. must be met with force. Has he put all copies of the Constitution through a shredder, yet? And wiped them from public records?

Nor does a confident populace. Is our new motto, "Speak loud gibberish, and wave a big stick"?

Freedom of Assembly. Rallies or protests are deliberately loud, with some extreme views to be expected at a microphone. Or bullhorn. No need for rally or protests when gummint is reasonable and doing its job--- which is to SERVE the public, not to be at war with those governed. The whole thing needs to be VISIBLE and LOUD. So that the criminal orange thugs pay attention to it, wherever these events are going on. #NOKINGS.
  • @Crash At our last rally, we were permitted to be along a busy 4 lane street that also had two entrance areas into a large shopping center as well as a traffic signal. A majority of the vehicles honked their horns in support as they drove along the street. However, there was the occasional vehicle with the rider holding a Trump sign outside the window and giving us 'the finger'. They were all young males. We waved and gave them the 'peace' symbol with our fingers.
Your location may or may not have a speaker at a podium. Our location was a very large group and no bull horns used for speaking, although we were loud.
  • +1. Yes, we get the occasional middle finger from the macho Trump doinks, but there are very few... Lots of drive-by support. Police stay at the fringes. We'll see what happens on Saturday coming.
  • @Crash We didn't have police in the area. And traffic flow was always normal.
NOW.....some local police may be at some locations for traffic management; and for no other needs; as times and events have rapidly changed.
