Bill Moyers R.I.P.

edited June 27 in Off-Topic
Bill Moyers passed away at the age of 91 today.
He was the White House Press Secretary under President Johnson.
Mr. Moyers was also an acclaimed journalist who was best known for his work associated with public television.
Moyers received more than 30 Emmys, nine Peabody Awards, three George Polk Awards,
and two Alfred I. Dupont-Columbia University Awards during his long career.
I've enjoyed watching Now, his weekly public affairs program, the new Bill Moyers Journal,
Moyers & Company, and the Healing and the Mind series.
I still need to watch the Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth series!

Yes, we enjoy watch Bill Moyer until he was no longer active. He earned our greatest respects who served as a journalist that spanned over five decades. RIP, Bill.
  • He was an exceptional individual who added his explorations of the human spirit and thought for the betterment of society in general. He caused many to think about and question topics they had not previously considered or had knowledge of.

And yes; watch the Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth series!.....more than once.
  • He was a truly remarkable intellect, and he gave us insights and knowledge that we would likely not have considered otherwise. Thank you, and may you rest in peace.
  • One trusted that whatever he had to say was thoughtful and considered. RIP Bill.

Bill was also a thoroughly decent human being, as well as brilliant in all the different capacities and roles he served in his life. I doubt we'll see his like again. It makes me sad to the core to know he's gone.
  • Campbell with Moyers: The Power of Myth.

  • I’m a fan of Robert Caro who is said to be at work of Vol 5 of his biography of Lyndon Johnson. Bill Moyers may have been the one major confident of LBJ who never spoke publicly of his break with the president nor about LBJ’s failure to extricate the country from the Vietnam war. It’s a shame Moyers’ perspective will not be a part of Carl’s book. Moyers apparently refused all invitations for an interview.
  • Speaking of Robert Caro I'm about halfway through his remarkable biography of Robert Moses. Jeeze... what an ego-driven personality.
