I've placed a few musical pieces here; and I've written in other threads about places. With both I've been inclined to provide a story that is related. Tis a nice release to share and at times have similar in return. I'm old enough to recall too many songs when they were 'new'. Some songs, for various reasons, stay within us; versus others.
This short song expresses an accumulation of self, and I can not find better words; with this simple and kind music. 'Causes one to reflect, again and more; eh?
I’ve been stuck on Streisand for about 2 months. Dozens of lovely duets. But this one with Hozier blows me away. What a marvelously sophisticated arrangement. Notice the slow mellow violin notes at the start. Notice how the track is devoid of percussion or any orchestral rhythm early on. Streisand carries the rhythm alone. As Hozier enters some light percussion begins and slowly builds. In the second half percussion and orchestral rhythm loom large. I haven’t figured out what the impact of that late heavy staggered rhythm is. It seems perhaps as it it’s dragging a bit - acting as a restraint on the higher pitched heartfelt vocals. Just an amazing piece of music.
The "Trinity Revisted" sessions were recorded at Toronto's Church of the Holy Trinity in 2006. The group's second album, "The Trinity Session," was also recorded there in 1987.
Thank you, Mr. Beck; for your music skills. We did buy the DVD. The Vimeo video has a little different layout. Click the 'play' arrow and expand the size. You're on your way !
This is a great show, with special guests. Give attention, too; to Tal Wilkenfeld, bass guitar. She may be searched for her interesting background with interviews, and excellent bass work videos. She really knows how to 'run' a bass guitar and her smile shows her musical pleasure.

He performs "The Harder They Come" from The Harder They Come movie soundtrack.
Jimmy Cliff? I knew the name. I like Reggae. There is even a sub-genre here, Hawaiian Reggae. Bless him. He was some extraordinary talent.
I need to listen to the entire "Trinity Revisited" session.
Thanks!
+1
Great shit!

You just reminded me:
Jeff Beck: Nessun Dorma, from the opera, "Tourandot."
I haven't previously heard "Nessun Dorma."
Very nice!
