  • If we have top notch security capability at the national level, they should be suited to confront this as a national security threat. And take appropriate measures. Unless we don't, or the people in charge are incompetent.

They should be able to track them down, at the very least. My guess is that trump's buddy Putin, will not assist if they are found to be in Russia.

Not confident that we do. Cannot trust what we have in place right now.
  • Me neither. I suspect the myth is greater than the reality.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency has been eviscerated under the Trump administration.
Consequently, we will be more vulnerable to the many risks associated with cyber attacks.

"The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is a subdivision of the US Department of Homeland Security responsible for protecting the nation's critical infrastructure from physical and cyber threats.
The agency works to enhance the security, resilience, and reliability of the nation's cyber
and physical infrastructure through partnerships, information sharing, and risk management.
It also provides resources, tools, and support to help organizations and individuals
safeguard their systems and respond to incidents. It was established in 2018."

"The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) is undergoing significant changes
under the new Trump Administration, with around 300 people's contracts terminated
and significant funding cuts for cybersecurity projects within the agency."

Trump fired CISA's first director, Chris Krebs, because the agency refused to question the 2020 election results.
Wired conducted a very informational "exit interview" with the agency's second director, Jen Easterly.

  • Among the outrageously stupid things that Trump has done, this ranks near the top. Nation State actors, like China, DPRK, Iran and Russia will make our infrastructure, financials, and tech, and everything else, their playground.

  • the fact that putin and xi run the largest cybercrime armies on earth, based on crypto, is aspirational to trump as a family legacy. barron is all in. its the perfect trump enterprise, all the benefits of large scale scam without the overhead needed to maintain pretext of an actual business.
    there is no alternate explanation.
