Very uplifting song from Playing For Change.
    I love the guitar tone.
  • A better New Year to everyone !!!

Music. The Universal Language. We salute all of the writers, singers, players of all forms of instrument, the modern era studio geniuses and those never famous or well known who helped shape music over the many centuries. They've entertained, caused new thoughts among those without the musical gift and have helped shape society(s) movements and governments around the globe.
We also especially salute the local public school systems that support the bands that are formed, that allow for the discovery by the young souls the 'universal language' at the individual instrument level and the wonder of learning how to synchronize to the group level; be it playing a song or a song and performing the complex movements of formations upon a football field.

Somehow I missed the news of Steve Cropper's death on Dec. 3.
Mr. Cropper was a member of Booker T. & the MGs which was the "house band" for Stax Records.
He was a low-key musician who added his tasteful guitar licks to many classic soul songs.
Some of these songs include: “Green Onions,” “(Sittin’ on) the Dock of the Bay”,
“In the Midnight Hour”,"Knock on Wood", and "Soul Man".
    RIP Steve.

  • Did someone say Ireland?

Whisky In the Jar. Love it.
AND Peter Gabriel. I watched a vid of his "Secret World" Concert. Gotta mention Paula Cole! You may remember she sang the theme song for "Dawson's Creek" on tv.

  • While we are on Peter Gabriel, what a song and performance in Athens in 1987.
