Lynn, Thank you so much. I am planning on a 3-year ladder since I am a year away from retirement. Lots of spreadsheet work to calculate the income replacement needed. This ladder will create a steady income stream. So thank you for all your help. I moved back to high quality bond funds this year. Some of which you covered in the SA article. For now, I will stay with agency bonds to the bond ladder. I will pick active managers for corporate bonds. Sven

  • @Observant1, for now more data is being collected so a complete picture of Omicron can be assessed. Really appreciate for your link above. Stay safe.
  • In the meantime, delta variant is still the dominant and "deadly" one, that accounted for most the recent death toll. Omicron is more contagious than delta but there is not enough data to confirm its lethality according to Dr. Fauci. So far genomic…

  • It is incredible that Munger is 97 years old and he is very sharp. BRKB has not made big purchases lately other than buyback of their own stock.
  • @David, my condolence to your loss. Thank you for another incredible Commentary.
  • Think we don’t have sufficient patient data to confirm the impact of Omicron on the broader population and demographic. Moderna news from Financial Times said one thing (somewhat negative) and BioNTech provided a more positive news with their vaccin…
  • Yes, the post has been corrected.
  • PRHYX is closed to new investors. However, a reasonable substitute HY bond fund is still open - US High yield, TUHYX. Performance/risk of PRHYX is a bit better. On a lower risk tier is TRP Floating Rate fund, PRFRX. The duration is less than o…

  • Open ended, active managed funds are better bets. T. Rowe Price would be my first choice.
  • What we are seeing is natural immunity is gives you 50% protection. How about how does it reduce the severity? Does this diminish over time? WTF knows. How does Omicron impact the unvaccinated? If it gets as deadly as Delta, similar result as tha…

  • @hank, This past Friday was ugly. Mining stocks including NGLOY took quite a hit. GOLD took a dive too. In next several weeks we will learn more on test results on "Omicron". There was flash of fear reflecting the consequences of February 2020…
