"Saying she refused to be a 'battered wife,' U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene
announced on Friday she was resigning from the House of Representatives in the wake
of a dramatic falling out with President Donald Trump."
"Her exit marks a stunning turn of events that few would have imagined months ago.
Greene, a Republican from Georgia, was once one of Trump’s closest allies and an outspoken advocate
of his 'America First' agenda, but the rift between the two widened in recent months over the release
of government files related to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and other matters."
"The public dispute between Trump and Greene had fueled concerns among some Republicans
that Trump's 'Make America Great Again' base could fracture a year before the midterms,
when Democrats hope to regain control of Congress."

• Why should she have been afraid of Trump in her next primary? Seems to me that her in-state support was very firm.
• She never gave a damn about what her House peers thought of her- why now?
• Why was her resignation timing set for two days after she becomes eligible for lifetime retirement benefits and health care benefits, after serving only five years?
i dont believe dems (or anyone) can opportunistically align with core MAGA on the hopes they are changing their mind in prep for a post-trump era. where was her diehard battle for epstein truth 2016-2020? or even 2024-now? ignore her, as she will continue to reach for publicity and credit regardless. and dont ruleout a reunion, given trump can even 'fake like ' mamdani for a minute.
sure, mtg had an easy out were she to really vanish in 2028. but her brief departure does not mean any net loss of gop nor net gain of sanity.
She is what she always was. Never trust it.

"She said that Republican women had been unfairly treated by party leadership, including herself and the New York congresswoman Elise Stefanik."
Stefanik “gets shafted” while Walz “gets rewarded”, Greene said to the Post. “She’s a woman so it was OK to do that to her somehow.”
"Sorry I’m not sorry I don't obey Republican men's demands that I, as a woman, don't remain seen but not heard."
“Standing up for American women who were raped at 14, trafficked and used by rich powerful men, should not result in me being called a traitor and threatened by the President of the United States, whom I fought for,” she writes, adding that she refuses to be a “battered wife” and suffer a primary challenge against her.
She first speaks of her "loyalty", then uses the words "battered wife". Sounds very much like someone who has finally realized that she is a cult member.
"She's carefully timing her departure just 1-2 days after her pension kicks in and after making millions of dollars insider trading stocks for weapons manufacturers and others while in office. She is saying a lot but her ACTIONS have not backed up the rhetoric. For all her talk, she's STILL voting with them to gut healthcare and advance self-dealing corruption schemes."
Like JD_ quoted her perfectly.
