  • @Old_Joe Thanks a ton. I should maybe skip lunch.
  • @Crash- Actually, I found a pic which would have guaranteed  that you would skip lunch, but I didn't have the heart to do that to you.:)

    :)

Anyhow, time for a break. It's the week-end. What new surprise will we be presented with at the tail end of the news cycle? That's the Orange Felon's habit, eh? Anyhow, I'm feeling good, having contributed today to a pet charitable project. Stealing a page from Scott Galloway. He and Kara Swisher are quite engaging on their podcasts. She made me giggle a little while ago, as a guest with Nicolle Wallace on her own podcast: "The Best People." They were tying it up. Swisher mentioned that "lesbians should raise all the children; the world would be a better place." I might have to just agree with that. Jayzuz. Any more mass shootings today that I don't know about? ..... Watch the subdued reaction to today's jobs report from the WH, eh? The Orange Liar In Chief dissembled in his inimitable way, almost making sense with his response, when asked about it.

On Friday, the BLS postponed releasing an annual report regarding consumer expenditures.
This latest development brings additional concerns about the agency's operations
after Donald J. Trump fired the BLS commissioner last month.

  • Takes extra time to fudge reports?
  • Creative accounting ahead ...

They're delivering a box of official Trump-brand Sharpies to the BLS office tomorrow morning, I hear...
  • Extra small Sharpies.

    Of course.
So he can comfortably hold them with his small hands!
  • The following is extracted from a current commentary by Heather Cox Richardson.
On Friday the Bureau of Labor Statistics postponed the release of the annual report on consumer expenditures—a key report for understanding inflation—without explanation. The BLS has been under stress since President Donald J. Trump fired its head, Commissioner Erika McEntarfer, after the July jobs report showed far weaker hiring statistics than expected as well as a downgrade for previous months. Officials at the BLS said the new report will be “rescheduled to a later date.”

This weekend, Dan Frosch, Patrick Thomas, and Andrea Peterson of the Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. Department of Agriculture is ending its annual report on household food security. Those reports began in the 1990s to help state and local officials distribute food assistance. Last year’s report found that 18 million U.S. households experienced food insecurity during 2023. In a statement, the Department of Agriculture said: “These redundant, costly, politicized and extraneous studies do nothing more than fearmonger.”
    Text emphasis added.

Comment: Trump's government says "What you don't know can't hurt us."
  • "What you don't know can't hurt us."

Well there's that, but more to the point there's the positing that if you don't observe a problem it doesn't exist. A variant of "if a tree falls in the forest ...", but more insidious:
“If we stopped testing right now, we’d have very few [Covid] cases, if any.”

We're already deep into the slog through the worst of the shit. And it's only going to get worse. Second or third passports, anyone??? PERMANENT residency permit in Mexico can be had for retirees if you can show $300,000 in US assets...

What good will more passports do you in a detention camp for "left-wing terrorists"?

Difficult for me to think that you missed my point. A choice of passports permits the holder to land elsewhere in order to escape the mountain of Orange feces.
  • Not if they come for you before you use the passports.
  • How many countries will accept most Americans with open arms? The list must be extremely limited. Their walls are there, built with red-tape.

A certain idiot broke all of our Intl agreements, and that will not help things.

Even our economic reports aren't trustworthy now, and US media is quickly turning into MAGA controlled propaganda.

When the labor reports are issued, will you trust what is presented?

Americans might be seen as just a bunch of high risk bombastic pathological liars and be dismissed without vetting.

Yes, don't wait until it's too late.

At least registered Repugnants would surely qualify on that basis.
  • ...will the replacement be any better? Race to the bottom. Is he dead yet?
  • No jobs report this Friday - see CNBC news, but I don't see any such notice at BLS website.
