  • Delusional.
  • Like master like slave.
  • Watch this unpresidential, goofy, narcissistic, crazy-ass, unhinged, barking-mad, false, childish nonsense. Then I dare you to tell me the U.S.A. is not totally fucked under the Orange regime.

Ahahaha. Pretty deranged shit. When you spend your time defending an assault on the First Amendment, you never fully assimilated as a U.S. citizen.

Then ironically, you realize that an attack on free speech is actually illegal. So, you need to ignore the statements of Trump, the FCC chair, and even Ted Cruz and Rand Paul and Joe Rogan - a whole slew of people who are the farthest thing from liberal or Democrats. And blurt out a string of straw men and ad hominem attacks. Immature thinking at its finest.

"Carr has launched formal investigations of all of the nation's major broadcast networks, including NPR. The one exception is Fox, owned by Trump's political ally Rupert Murdoch." - A wholesale assault on free speech.

""They give me only bad press," Trump said. "They're getting a license. I think maybe their license should be taken away."

""We can do this the easy way or the hard way," Carr told the right-wing podcaster Benny Johnson. "These companies can find ways to change conduct to take action on Kimmel or, you know, there's going to be additional work for the FCC ahead."

You'd have to be incredibly stupid or in total denial to not take top officials words at face value. Or try to rationalize their behavior.

""What he has done here - using the bully pulpit to essentially intimidate a major network into canceling one of its hours - there's nothing that comes close in the history of the Federal Communications Commission, " says Gigi Sohn, a former senior official at the FCC. "It doesn't matter if it's Republican or Democrat. It's so beyond the pale, that it's difficult to conceive."

"Right-leaning podcaster Joe Rogan has chimed in on the suspension of late night host Jimmy Kimmel amid pressure from the Trump administration, saying the government should not determine what comedians say and that conservatives were “crazy” to support any such interference."

The initiators of "cancel culture" from way back in the 1970s, are still trying to cancel anyone who doesn't agree with their bizarre notions. Even Charlie Kirk spoke out on the dangers of such government intrusions on free speech and on cancel culture. But, these slow wildebeest, are prepared to burn down the house with everyone in it.

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., said that Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr's comments threatening to take action against Disney's ABC last week were "absolutely inappropriate."

From Heather Cox Richardson's Letters from an American newsletter:

"Today, with the popularity of President Donald J. Trump and his administration dropping, Trump’s disastrous performance at the United Nations, the return of comedian Jimmy Kimmel to the airwaves, and the Tuesday’s election in Arizona of Democratic representative Adelita Grijalva, who will provide the final signature on a discharge petition to demand a floor vote in the House over releasing all the government files on convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the administration appears to be making a dramatic push to seize complete control of the government."

"Last night, Office of Management and Budget director Russell Vought tried to jam the Democrats into passing the Republicans’ continuing resolution to fund the government. Officials leaked a memo to Politico, Punchbowl News, and Axios—publications that focus on events concerning Capitol Hill—saying that if the Democrats refuse to pass the Republicans’ measure, the administration will try to fire, rather than furlough, large numbers of federal employees."

Trump promised to bring jobs back to America.
But his administration is threatening to fire government workers
instead of negotiating with Democrats to avert a shutdown!
Just another one of the many broken promises made by Donald J. Trump.:-(

If Trump and the FCC were dictators, why did Kimmel's bosses reinstate him?

Kimmel has been going weak over the years.

I will give you 6 or 20 million reasons. Your choice. The only one that went weak over the years is you.

"Comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s return to late night Tuesday earned him his largest television audience in more than a decade, ABC announced Wednesday.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” netted more than 6 million viewers on linear broadcast this week, according to Nielsen Media Research data, despite the show being preempted in what the network said was more than 20 percent of households nationwide.

Those figures do not include the more than 20 million views his opening monologue racked up on YouTube, or clips of his show that went viral on social media."
  • Good news on this Thursday is that by the time all these negative indicators, like inflation (2.9% core long term is high!), jobs, truck sales, and H1B policies slam the economy, it will be far too late to blame anyone but Trump. It will not matter what he says, the all-important swing voters will know. And he will be staring down the barrel of mid-terms.

Imagine a Dem sweep of House and Senate. Then Trump will be facing impeachment, with no favorable Senate to hold him accountable. He is going to poop his pants more often than usual.

The king of straw man arguments strikes again! No one said Trump were a "dictator". "Many" people, including his own people, said that Trump's FCC chairman, threatened the free media over Kimmel. And Trump's own supporters, the one's with dignity and no fascist tendencies, are calling this out across the nation.

Including Trump's own former WH counsel.

    https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5514098-kimmel-suspension-free-speech/

    https://www.huffpost.com/entry/ty-cobb-donald-trump-jimmy-kimmel_n_68d0e4d6e4b068960de791a6

Then straw man king made a lame attempt to spin Trump's failure to silence Kimmel, as some sort of "proof". All it proves is that our Constitution is still holding up to Trump's onslaught, despite being a bit frayed about the edges. All it proves is that the free media knows that a true court challenge on First Amendment grounds, would be in their favor.

Bring it on! It isn't going to work out for Trump.

Time to call Trump out in a big way. Does he really think that mass firings are going to go his way? The Billionaire firing hard working Americans of all colors and political affiliations? Like some bad reality show? Do you feel lucky, Punk? Well, do ya?

Must've had him in a room strapped to a chair showing him old videos of The View, pumping him full of sodium pentathol with his eyes held open like in Clockwork orange!

Quite the fantasy. It is like The Twilight Zone in the head of a MAGAloon.

Speaking of indoctrination and fueling hate. An Arizona Republican lawmaker is calling for the execution of a Democratic congresswoman. Wanna bet no one on the right is appalled?

More good news! We are getting some new taxes on all of us. New tariffs on trucks, drugs and furniture. Woohoo!

And it looks like the Sinclair stations that were blocking Kimmel are losing money and getting muck flak. They are bringing Kimmel back! Way to stand by your principals, Sinclair! lol

Amd more "good news", this time for Argentina! Trump is throwing U.S. tax dollars at their economy, and Argentina lowered its cost of soybeans to China, nailing shut U.S. farmers coffins. The WH says they know of there farmer's plight and state it has been that way a while. But, no acknowledgement of how much worse Trump has made the situation since taking office.

I hear he is planning to blame George Washington this time.

Yup. @FD1000 called his good buddy Chris Ripley, the CEO of Sinclair Broadcasting Group, and told him that he wanted to watch Jimmy, another good friend.

I hope that everyone on MFO gives a special shout-out to FD for his good work!

Here is a conversation between two of your so-called extremists:

To me, they appear to understand and act in ways to support the concept of liberty and justice for all. @FD1000, if you really want to see examples of extremism, look no further than Trump, his minions, and the doctrine of Project 2025. How is it you think your views "win on substance"?

If the "substance" he refers to is cow pies. Then we have a winner.
if he believes what he spews, he has a disordered thought process.
They say that narcissist, sociopaths and cult members never seek help, because they believe they are just fine. The latter can be deprogrammed, the former cannot be helped.

From the Markets A.M newsletter by Spencer Jakab.

Williams-Sonoma, Wayfair, RH: Shares of furniture and home-goods retailers fell in off-hours trading
after President Trump announced tariffs on imported items such as kitchen cabinets and upholstered furniture.

Sumitomo Pharma, Otsuka, CSL: Shares of overseas pharmaceutical companies with exposure to the U.S.
fell after Trump set out new tariffs on branded and patented drugs.

Daimler Truck, Traton: Shares of the commercial-vehicle makers fell after Trump announced a 25% tariff
on heavy truck imports. Both German companies use plants in Mexico to produce for the U.S.
The levies are due to kick in on Wednesday.
  • A disaster of his own making. Court found the tariffs to be illegal, but granted him ample time to appeal. Feces. It's all of his making, but the rest of us have to pay. Is he dead yet?

When he does go, for whatever reason, the internecine warfare within MAGA will be amusing to watch, like a pack of demented seagulls fighting over a bag of rotten french fries*.

    * Stolen from Colbert writers.

  • you know there is too much winning when MAGA forgets to list that :
    - trump was for ukraine all along !
    - its so great that foreign companies are going to pay tariffs for his Rx drugs...down 1500% means he will be getting paid to take them ! more disease please!

Q2 GDP Growth Revised Up To 3.8%.

Comey has been indicted. We need to hold the Russia-collusion instigators and phony investigators accountable. This marks the beginning of restoring democracy: do unto others as they have done to you FIRST.
  • The MAGA propaganda is strong with this one.

Hundreds of hours of FOX news will sap your mind. No ability to think freely, so you just parrot the MAGA lines they repeat to you hourly.

You are a tool of the far right. A party tool.

The notion that Trump is driving GDP (with taxation) is indicative of poor economic understanding. This economy was handed over very strong. Without tariffs, it might be much higher. In science, the first rule is that correlation is not causation.

Trump even said recently that this is Biden's economy. lol

Know who else doesn't understand economics? The guy raging at the FED to cut rates into 3.8% GDP and 2.9% core inflation. Not going to end well!
