    Thanks, everyone.
Hawaiian: He Mele Lahui Hawaii. Written by the Princess, before becoming Queen Liliuokalani. This song served for a number of years as the Anthem for the Hawaiian Kingdom before it was illegally annexed by the U.S.A. Her uncle replaced this one with Hawaii Ponoi.
The tune is lovingly haunting to me.The harmonies!!! Performed by the Rose Ensemble.

  • Joe Bonamassa and the crew playing FREDDY KING, SONNY THOMPSON: "Someday After A While (You'll Be Sorry") From the LIVE IN AMSTERDAM concert, 2013, with Beth Hart.
    Great LOUD Intro.

Anybody watched Springstein’s “Western Stars” video? Thinking of buying or renting at Amazon.

@Dr. Venture. Thanks for the helpful suggestion. I’m traveling and the VPN kicks on if using what Norton deems an “insecure network.” However, I cannot remember it causing UTube not to load in the past. Probably a recent change on Google’s part.
  • Great choice. @Mark

    Funky, bluesy and banging piano.

  • Some good soul, blues, and jazz.

Thanks, @Mona. I bet you like this. I know that I do.

    You are welcome.

I have been a Springsteen fan, since almost the start. I have a framed copy of the "Greetings from Asbury Park" vinyl on one the wall, one side of my dartboard, and Thin Lizzy "Bad Reputation", on the opposite side.

So, yes on Western Stars. Quite a road from Rosalita to a Western homage!

  • +1 @Dr. Venture. Same here re:Springsteen. I tell my kids that he sings the songs of my life.

    @Mark Exactly!

If I had to pick a single Springsteen song, it would be Incident on 57nd Street

WOW. Thanks. I’ve never gotten into Bruce Springsteen. But will make an effort!
  • @hank Thrilled that you enjoyed it!

Other similar songs that you may like are Jungleland and Thunder Road

And if you are interested in the Western Stars, I would suggest Springsteen's Nebraska album. He tends to be genre bending in his musical evolutions.

I'm a big Bruce Springsteen fan.
I especially like his early albums: The Wild, the Innocent & The E Street Shuffle, Born To Run,
Darkness On the Edge of Town
    and The River.
Born to Run is one of my all-time favorite rock albums — it's hard to believe it was released in 1975!
  • I listened to the following song earlier today.
I was fortunate to see Los Lobos playing a small venue in the late 80s.
    It was quite an experience!

  • @Observant1. Good one. I haven't heard that in a long while.
  • Listened to several Wilco songs today including this one.

  • Those round towers in the picture for the song are Marina Towers in Chicago - very unique. You can also see the WCFL call sign, a media fixture in Chicago for many years "The Voice of Labor".

    Cool song. @Observant1
  • Grab a drink, or your favorite substance, this next song demands it. it is sexy, bluesy and moody.

Big fan of the Rolling Stones' music from the mid 60s to early 70s.
Ran across this killer version of "Midnight Rambler" played at the Marquee Club in 1971.
The best Stones ensemble coinicided with Mick Taylor's membership in the band — as seen here.

Thanks for the context — I knew nothing about the towers.
They are also featured on the cover of Wilco's breakthrough Yankee Hotel Foxtrot album.

That is indeed an early version of Midnight Rambler. Thanks. It really illustrates their blues roots. Very cool.
